Service

Due to the design and chosen comfort level of certain Leolux products, some creasing is unavoidable. The particular comfort level means that over time some Leolux models lose their initially rigid appearance and start to show more creases and signs of wear.

Leolux aims to deliver its products in perfect condition. But things can always go wrong. If they do, we’d like to put things right for you. You can make a service request or submit a complaint in several ways:

  • Through the dealer with whom you closed your agreement.

  • Via our service website.

Be sure to have your product number to hand. You can find this on the warranty card that came with your delivery or on the sticker attached to the underside of the furniture.

Reupholstery is a better name. Leolux doesn’t only change your furniture’s covering (although upon request it can do this too), but it replaces all the parts that are subject to wear. In fact, only the wooden frame of the furniture is retained. The rest – the foam and covering – is replaced. Your furniture becomes like new. We also give a 7-year warranty to our reupholstered products, just like we do for new pieces of Leolux furniture.

Yes, it is. It’s also possible to have tables revarnished. Ask your dealer about it or fill in the online service form. Be sure to have your product number to hand. You can find this on the warranty card that came with your delivery or on the sticker attached to the underside of your furniture.

You can order spare parts, like felt pads or chair leg caps, and maintenance products from our Leolux Service online store. To supply you with the right maintenance product, we need to know the exact sort of leather your furniture is covered with. Please make sure you have your product number to hand. You can find this on a sticker on the underside of your furniture or on your warranty card.

It is very easy to take a Leolux modular sofa apart. Stand facing the sofa and lift the right-hand module, close to the attachment point (on the left-hand side of the module). You’ll feel the module come loose and you can then lift it up and remove it. Please note, this is how most sofas are built, but not all. Bellice and Pulla are connected in a different way. Please get in touch with our service department if you want to take these models apart.

Maintenance

Solid doesn’t mean that your tabletop or legs are made from a single piece of wood. If they were, the wood would probably warp irretrievably. Tabletops are made from plies of wood glued together, each perpendicular to the last. This keeps the expansion and contraction of the wood to a minimum. Furniture legs are built from several pieces of wood for the same reason. Solid wood is varnished or oiled. Varnished wood requires less maintenance (for tips: see varnish products).

For oiled wood, please take note of the following

  • Mop up liquid spills immediately.

  • Regularly treat the table with oil. Apply a thin coat to a clean, dry table and buff with a soft, dry cloth.

  • Do not use any harsh or abrasive cleaning products.

  • Carefully treat small scratches or stains with a scouring pad in the direction of the grain. Then reapply oil.

  • Do not place hot objects on your table. These will cause ring marks that cannot be removed.

  • Leolux recommends Ecotone maintenance product. It is available from your Leolux dealer or the Leolux Experience Center.

Leolux varnishes are fully cured after about two months. By that point, they are hard and resistant to everyday scratching during normal use. A degree of caution is advisable in the early months. During that time, do not place heavy objects on your table. Only clean varnished Leolux products with water and an all-purpose liquid cleaner or washing-up liquid. Do not use furniture polishes containing silicone.

  • Leolux varnishes are scratch resistant but not fully scratch proof. Avoid dragging hard objects, like terracotta flowerpots or trays, over the table’s surface.

  • Never use abrasive cleaners.

  • Watch out for objects with feet, like light or sound equipment. These feet sometimes contain silicone which can leave marks on the surfaces they have stood upon. Use felt pads instead.

Dust and dirt damages fabric. Be sure to vacuum your furniture regularly. Use the special vacuum cleaner attachment for this.

General advice on treating spills

  • Begin by removing as much solid material as possible with a spoon.

  • Then wet a cloth, wring it out and place it over the spill. That’s all you need to do.

  • Replace the cloth with a fresh one for as long as the spill continues to be absorbed.

  • If a stain persists after this treatment, let it dry out and treat it as a stubborn stain.

  • Begin by researching how you can best treat the stain. If in doubt, it’s better to do nothing than do the wrong thing.

Leather is a natural product. It does best in the right conditions, in air that is not too dry, and with the right maintenance. Over-zealous maintenance can even do it harm.

  • Use a soft cloth to care for your furniture.

  • Clean up any spills immediately.

  • Don’t rub any given spot too hard or you’ll make a shiny patch on the leather.

  • Make sure that the air in your room is not too dry.

  • Do not place furniture in direct sunlight.

  • Please refer to our leather maintenance page.

Collection

All Leolux furniture is available in the upholstery of your choice. The options vary per model, but most of our furniture can be upholstered in leather, fabric or ‘artificial leather’. If you opt for leather, you’ll be able to choose between several magnificent qualities, each with its own unique characteristics. The fabric collection comprises an extensive and carefully curated range of fabrics in colourways that complement our leather and furniture finishes. Our furniture can also be covered with fabrics from outside our own collections from renowned brands like De Ploeg or Kvadrat. Artificial leather provides the look and feel of leather without being sourced from animals. Here too, you have a choice of many types and colours.

Leolux consultants at our partners and in the Leolux Design Centers are ready to assist you in making your choices. But you can also use our Leolux Creator tool to explore your options.
