Colour trend: The Muse

The Muse is an ode to today’s woman. She is self-assured with artistic, intellectual flair. She also reflects on the world of interior design. Not only are there many active trend-setting female designers, we also see this influence in materials, shapes, textures and colours.

Contrasts play a vital role in this trend. Feminine curves are combined with graphic forms and sleek lines. Soft, matt colours and tactile finishes merge with delicate geometric details. Metal is combined with velvet, matt with gloss.

The colour palette in this trend is a combination of typical feminine and masculine colours. The most important colours are artistic blue inspired by Yves Klein, an academic dark green and typically feminine colours, such as ‘peachy pink’: a soft pink with orange undertones. Cool and warm colours alternate.
